The Benedum Trees Building stands 19 stories tall and houses several foundations, law firms, and other professional organizations.
Windward provided MEP, and fire protection engineering as well as lighting services for the top three floors. The design included an independent and high-efficiency, gas-fired heating and cooling unit located on the space’s rooftop. Air is distributed throughout the space in a full variable air volume system. Ductwork was concealed to fully coordinate with the sophisticated level of finishes throughout. Additionally, all ductwork and variable air volume boxes were selected to minimize the chance of any system noise reaching the space.
The 9,000 SF space located within the building’s 17th, 18th, and 19th floors houses the offices and meeting space for William Benter, a noted Pittsburgh philanthropist and businessman. The Windward Lighting Studio Team worked closely with the architect to select and locate all lighting throughout the space. The top three floors are fully sprinklered providing an enhanced level of safety.
