The AT&T Tower was constructed in 1991 and the client’s primary focus for this renovation was to retain current tenants and appeal to new tenants by creating a buzz at the ground level through modernization of the 14,800 SF space. Windward’s Lighting Studio created unique lighting designs in the lobby, coffee shop, and communal work and gathering spaces. The lobby’s three-story volume combined with a very tight budget presented a challenge. The final solution was an open pendant that fills the volume without feeling heavy in the space. The pendant was constructed of standard fixtures suspended in a cluster to maintain the tight budget and fast lead time. Standard versions of the large pendant were used in the elevator lobbies to tie the design together.
