Windward provided MEP and fire protection engineering as well as commissioning and telecommunication services for a 20,000 SF expansion of the existing 81,100 SF Performing Arts building at George Mason University.
Additionally, we provided HVAC commissioning services during construction and post substantial completion. Services included verifying that all equipment was installed per the contract documents, systems were started up correctly, and training and demonstrations were properly performed. After substantial completion, performance verification of all the equipment sequences took place. Trending of the energy management systems assisted in verifying the energy management system operated correctly over a 30-day up-time period before putting the EMS into the warranty. The performance verification was performed over 2 seasons.
