Located in the historic Pioneer Square district, Hudson’s new 8,131 SF office uses light to highlight historic textures and integrate with modern design amenities. Windward’s Lighting Studio provided the interior lighting, control systems, and computer modeling for Hudson, dispersing light playfully amongst the architectural elements, illuminating vertical surfaces, and the ceiling, to create a welcoming and unique environment. Drawing attention to the historic ceiling, minimalist light fixtures provide comfortable working light. Glazing walls heighten the importance of balancing light levels between rooms and using light to focus attention on textures. Calling back to the office’s entry, the playful integration of acoustic baffles and acrylic fixtures provides a relaxing and familiar break area.
