Ben has been involved with a multitude of projects across a wide variety of market segments, from healthcare and higher education to streetscapes and sports fields.  He contributes to the team not only in his role as a lighting designer, but also as a mentor to younger members of the staff, offering helpful tips and bad jokes.  It is important to Ben to always keep the client’s needs and wants in mind when engaged in a design, and he works hard to provide a quality product from start to finish.

Born and raised in southcentral Pennsylvania, Ben attended the Architectural Engineering program at Penn State University and earned Bachelors and Masters of AE degrees with a focus on lighting and electrical systems.  He is active in the local IES (Illuminating Engineering Society) section, currently as a member of the Board of Managers and previously as President.  Ben is a registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of PA, but he tries to not let that get in the way of good lighting design.  He also holds the LC (Lighting Certified) credential from the NCQLP (National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions).  Ben is one of the founding members of Nittany Lights, a bi-annual interactive landscape lighting workshop that bridges together Penn State students and professionals in the lighting industry.

In his spare time, Ben enjoys travelling, playing volleyball, and running in half-marathons.  Well, maybe “enjoys” half-marathons isn’t the right word… more like “tolerates” in order to stay in shape.
