Dave has been involved with a wide variety of projects in all aspects of lighting. He understands that each project is different and takes pride in getting to know each client’s needs and operations and applying that knowledge during design. As part of the BLS team, Dave took lead on a 5-year project with a client and became immersed in transportation lighting, giving him a unique perspective on both design and review of highway and streetscape lighting and outdoor networked controls. He now applies those lessons learned towards all of his new projects.
Originally from Harrisburg, Dave studied to earn a Bachelors and Masters of Architectural Engineering from Penn State University, specializing in lighting and electrical systems. After graduation, he returned to Harrisburg to work for several years before moving back to State College where he still resides. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of PA and also carries the LC (Lighting Certified) credential from the NCQLP (National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions). Dave also sits on the board for Nittany Lights, a bi-annual interactive landscape lighting workshop that bridges together Penn State students and professionals in the lighting industry.
Outside of work, Dave pursues many interests such as drumming, old cars, old houses, and most of all spending time with his family.
