Windward provided MEP, fire protection, fire alarm, IT, AV, and security design services for this 18,000 SF sheriff station. The single-story building includes administration space, roll call rooms, a community room, holding cells, interview rooms, locker rooms, exercise rooms, and a conference room. The HVAC system consists of a geothermal well field with pumps located in the building. Above ceiling duct heat pumps throughout the facility provide space temperature control, and a water source DOAS unit provides dehumidified tempered air for ventilation to each space. An emergency generator provides power for the entire building, including HVAC systems. Provision for future roof-mounted photovoltaic panels was included in the design. The project is LEED Silver certified.
